The KMD College, representing Myanmar, proudly received the inaugural ICT Education Award from the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) in 2017 at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) Forum held in Taipei from September 10 to 13. The WCIT Forum, organized by WITSA, is a significant international forum held annually, providing a platform for over 80 countries' government leaders, IT sector executives, education leaders, and various other organizations to discuss business opportunities and technological advancements. ASOCIO, a member of the WCIT Forum, was established in 1984 and is an international ICT trade organization with over 100,000 member companies from the Asia and Oceania region. Each year, ASOCIO presents the ASOCIO Outstanding ICT Company Award, ASOCIO Outstanding User Organisation Award, and ASOCIO Digital Government Award to ICT companies worldwide. In 2017, the ASOCIO ICT Education Award was presented to Myanmar for the first time. At the WCIT Forum, held at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) from September 10 to 13, Senior Director U Bo Bo Lwin of KMD College received the ASOCIO ICT Education Award on behalf of Myanmar. Since its inception in 1986, KMD College has been an exemplary organization in Myanmar's IT education sector, continuously teaching and training citizens in IT and Media technologies using international standards to contribute to a progressive society. KMD College's longstanding commitment to IT education over the past 30 years enabled them to compete and win the ICT Education Award for Myanmar.
